Veterinary Laboratory (VL) previous named Regional Veterinary Laboratory (RVL) has been situated in metropolitan city, Biratnagar-13, Province no.1, of eastern Nepal and was established in the fiscal year 1988/1989 AD. From FY 2048/2049, the laboratory had its separate identity as Regional Veterinary Laboratory (RVL) with specific roles, objectives, manpower, logistics and financial support. The scope of the area of the RVL were all the 16 districts of the-then administrative structure of Eastern Development Region.The scope of work area is all 14 districts of province 1. Additionally, the laboratory is still providing services to the 2 districts of Province-2 (namely Saptari and Siraha).
